Completed Nov 16, 2018: Webinar – Build and Orchestrate Serverless Applications on AWS with PowerShell
AWS November 2018 Tech Talks Series:
– Overview of AWS Lambda – “function” that runs as a service…
– Automatic request-based scaling
– Billed only for compute time (on demand)
– Supports multiple code types (PowerShell, Java, Python, etc…)
– Demos of PowerShell functions running inside of Lambda
My Take –
The webinar went fast but from what I could comprehend, AWS Lambda is a pretty cool function…after seeing the demos, this is the type of stuff that I need a project in mind to get up close and personal with packaging and deploying via code. There are some templates to choose from to make it easier to setup for deployment. The one thing the presenter referred to while performing a demo deployment is having a “cheat sheet.” This is speaking my language…when a string of code is working properly, it can be used again and in multiple locations…in other words, instead of “re-inventing the wheel,” it can just be tweaked as needed.
